Cameo appearance of X-23 (Test Tube) "... In the Forest of the Night" Wolverine has a dream that he had his claws torn off by Cyber, but to only wake up and realize that it was true. In the meantime, he and Expediter are still traveling towards the coast to board a ferry to Muir Island. Meanwhile, back in Edinburgh, Inspector McCleod verifies that this was the person who had robbed the bank, and does believe that Cyber is a mutant. The body of Cyber is transported to an ambulance. As the ambulance heads off, Cyber awakens, and kills the three paramedics onboard. He takes off with the ambulance in search for Wolverine, even while hallucinating. In some town, Expediter pulls over because Logan was still obviously in pain. Inside a bar, where they ended up going into and Logan was having a few drinks, Expediter asks him if he did indeed kill Bloodscream, and he replies that he's not even sure if Bloodscream can be killed. In Northern Alberta, the body of Bloodscream had disappeared, even though Cylla's carcuss was still there. Down the road from the town of Logan, an old couple, Willy and Doris, are attacked and drained by Bloodscream, who we see is obviously still very much alive. Back to that town in Scotland, where Logan finds himself suffering after having so many shots of whiskey. (Realize that his healing factor wasn't working as fast anymore). He and Expediter continues their way to Muir Island. In the car, Expediter shows Logan a video clip about a Dr. Jaime Munoz, a molecular biogist, who had been doing some work on grafting metal to bone, which included adamantium. In the video, Dr. Munoz talks about how he had uncovered in a federal storage depot some samples, of which one was Logan's, that proved that the bonding process was possible. He then goes on to talk about how the bonding process works, and how the volunteers had been unsuccessfully tracked down. Just when he gets to the part about him believing that the process could be replicated, Cyber catches up to them, and Logan finds himself fighting a very dillusionary Cyber. As their fight continues, the video that Logan had been watching talks about his hope for the former volunteers to come forward, as well as the subject called Logan X who he discovered to have an unstable molecular structure (defect in his DNA) that would cause him some problem in the near future. Unfortunately, Logan is too busy with Cyber to hear that part of the video. Using a road flare and a gas can, he blows up Cyber's ambulance. He and Zoe makes a run for the ferry in their car and makes it. Cyber, in the meantime, plummages into the harbor. * Although not recognized by Marvel as the first appearance of or reference to X-23, nor has any subsequent publication retroactively established an in-universe connection, this issue nonetheless often garners attention from collectors due to the presence of a test tube that has been interpreted by some readers as a reference to the character. This has led to considerable controversy over the issue, with X-23 creator Craig Kyle personally weighing in to deny any connection.
