"Cry Justice, Cry Vengeance!" The hospital where Rogue is recovering comes under attack by a lethal force as the X-Men fight to evacuate the injured. But the battle is a diversion meant to keep the X-Men occupied as the primary target is singled out for extermination. The leader of the force is looking for revenge against the one called Phoenix, or better known as Dark Phoenix the Destroyer of Worlds. He is a survivor of the Dbari race who was snuffed out of existence when Dark Phoenix consumed their sun. But Jean is not ready to die as she moves him to the Astral plane and lets him believe that he has exacted his revenge. The rest of his strike force is rounded up and it is discovered that they are exiled Shi'Ar guards and that Earth is being used as a prison planet. Jean realizes that if she can come back from the dead, why can't Scott as she begins her search for her husband.
